Falmouth Atlantic 75 Class Inshore Lifeboat - RNLB Eve Pank (B756)

At 17:11 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat be launched to assist in the evacuation of a person with a broken ankle from a vessel at King Harry Reach on the River Fal. An ambulance had been tasked to meet the Inshore Lifeboat at the ferry slipway on the Trelissick side of the river.

The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 17:17 and arrived on scene at 17:26. Two of the lifeboat crew were placed on the vessel to assess the casualties condition while the Inshore Lifeboat collected a paramedic from the shore. Once the casualty had been stabilised she was transferred to the Inshore Lifeboat in a stretcher before being taken ashore to the waiting ambulance. Once the ambulance had departed at 17:52 the crew recovered all of their equipment and the Inshore Lifeboat was released to return to station.

The Inshore Lifeboat was back on its slipway by 18:21 where it was refuelled, rehoused and was ready for service by 18:40.

The vessel had been taking part in the Fal River Festival procession when the women had slipped while walking around the boat resulting in a badly broken ankle. The crew of the vessel did an excellent job in treating the casualty prior to the arrival of the Inshore Lifeboat.
