Boat: All Weather Lifeboat Crew: Mark Pollard (Coxswain), David Proud, Luke Wills, Diane Bush, Jonathan Hackwell, Sandy Procter, Neil Capper Location: Northern Arm, Falmouth Docks Shout Date: 13/05/2011 - 15:53 Weather:SW 4, Slight Sea and Swell, Good Visibility, Sunny Periods ![]() At 15:53 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth All Weather Lifeboat be launched to carry out the medical evacuation of a crewman who was suffering from a fit on the Motor Tanker Merope Star (3,430 GRT) which was alongside the Northern Arm of the Falmouth Docks. The All Weather Lifeboat left its pontoon berth at 15:59 and arrived alongside the vessel at 16:03. The crewman was transferred to the lifeboat which then headed back to its pontoon berth, where the casualty was handed into the care of an ambulance paramedic before being taken to Treliske Hospital. The All Weather Lifeboat was back alongside its pontoon berth by 16:22. The lifeboat was then refuelled, and was ready for service by 16:37. The Merope Star had recently changed ownership and the crewman who was of Eastern European origin had just arrived onboard the vessel when he had suffered a fit. Although he had recovered enough to be able to walk he was taken to hospital for a complete check-up.
