At 17:37 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth All Weather Lifeboat be launched to evacuate a fisherman from the French fishing vessel Kelou Mad. The fisherman had suffered a fit and following medical advise it was decided that he should be transferred ashore and be taken to hospital for further treatment.

The All Weather Lifeboat left her berth at 17:48 and rendezvoused with the fishing vessel 3 miles South of Falmouth at 18:05. A crewman was put onboard the fishing boat to check the casualties condition before the casualty was transferred onto the lifeboat. Once safely onboard the lifeboat headed back to station where the casualty was landed to an Ambulance at 18:35.

The All Weather Lifeboat was back alongside its pontoon berth by 18:35, where it was ready for service by 18:45.
