Falmouth Offshore Lifeboat was launched at 20:38 with two lifeboat doctors onboard to evacuate a crewmember from the 140ft Tall Ship ""Europa"". The person had slipped on the deck and had hit the back of his head while the boat was 9 miles SSW of Landsend. Due to the weather conditions the vessel had decided to head for Falmouth where the casualty could be safely transferred.

The Lifeboat proceeded out into Falmouth Bay to meet the ""Europa"". The Pilot Boat placed a harbour pilot onboard the vessel and it was decided to bring the vessel into more sheltered waters before transferring the doctors. Once the vessel was inside the lighthouse the doctor's were transferred. The condition of the casualty was assessed and it was decided not to transfer him to the lifeboat until the vessel was safely moored to the Caldey Buoy in Falmouth Inner Harbour. Once the vessel was secure the casualty was transferred to the lifeboat and taken ashore to the lifeboat station where an Ambulance was waiting to take him to Hospital.

The Offshore Lifeboat was refuelled and ready for service by 23:00.
