Falmouth Offshore Lifeboat was launched at 00:43 to evacuate a crewmember from the 236m (41,940 Gross Tonnes) Bulk Carrier ""Sophia"" which was anchored 4 miles East of St Anthony Lighthouse. The person was suffering from a severe nosebleed and required hospitalisation.

The Lifeboat arrived alongside the ""Sophia"" at 01:02 where the casualty and another of the ships crew was transferred to the lifeboat. The lifeboat then headed back to the lifeboat station where the casualty was transferred to a waiting ambulance at 01:35 and was then taken to Trelisk Hospital.

The Offshore Lifeboat was refuelled and ready for service by 01:55.
