Boat: All Weather Lifeboat Crew: Alan Barnes (Coxswain), David Proud, Mark Pollard, Dave Nicoll, Phil Rogers, Carl Beardmore, Diane Bush, Dr Richard James Location: 10 miles Southeast of Falmouth Shout Date: 05/05/2005 (All day) Weather:SE 4, Moderate Sea, Good Visibility, Sunny Periods At 18:50 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth All Weather Lifeboat be launched with a doctor to evacuate a polish crewman who had suffered a fit onboard the 70ft Fishing Vessel Emily Jane while the boat was 10 miles Southeast of Falmouth. The Lizard Lifeboat was already on exercise and was also diverted to assist. The All Weather Lifeboat left her berth at 19:10 and headed out to rendezvous with the fishing vessel, which was making best speed towards Falmouth. Once it was established that the Falmouth Lifeboat would arrive on scene first, the Lizard Lifeboat was released to continue with its exercise. The lifeboat arrived on scene at 19:35 and transferred the doctor and two first aiders to check the casualty over. His condition had improved but it was decided that he still needed to be hospitalised for further checks so at 19:45 the casualty and lifeboat crew were transferred onto the lifeboat. The lifeboat headed back to station where the casualty was landed to a waiting ambulance at 20:08. The All Weather Lifeboat was back alongside its pontoon berth by 20:08, where it was ready for service by 20:27.
