At 10:00 one of the local Shipping Agents contacted the Honorary Secretary of Falmouth Lifeboat, to request Medical Assistance for a seaman onboard the Russian Merchant Vessel ""Eisha"" which was due at the Pilot Station in Falmouth Bay at 14:30. The seaman was believed to have a broken ankle having been injured when a watertight door had accidentally shut on his leg.

The Offshore Lifeboat left her pontoon berth at 13:42 with a Doctor onboard and made its way to the pilot station to await the arrival of the 140m (6,916 GRT) vessel. The Pilot boarded the ship at 14:30 and at 14:40 the Doctor and one of the lifeboats first aiders were put onboard the ship, to assess the casualties condition.

The vessel then entered the Harbour and was anchored in the Carrick Roads. The Doctor made a further examination of the casualty, and found that the leg was only cut and bruised so after treatment it was decided that medical evacuation to hospital was not required. At 16:10 the Doctor and first aider were picked up from the ship and the lifeboat headed back to station.

The Offshore Lifeboat was back alongside its pontoon berth by 16:20, where it was refuelled and ready for service by 16:30.
