At 20:00 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Offshore Lifeboat be launched to rendezvous with the Tanker Olga on its arrival in Falmouth Bay to bring ashore the body of one of the ships crew. The crewmember had died suddenly earlier in the day while the ship was in the English Channel and the ship had diverted to Falmouth.

The Offshore Lifeboat left her berth at 22:15 and arriving alongside the Olga at 22:40. The body was transferred to the offshore lifeboat and was taken ashore, where it was handed into the care of a local undertaker.

The Offshore Lifeboat was back alongside its pontoon berth by 23:00, where it was ready for service by 23:15.
