Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat - RNLB Eve Pank (B-756)

At 12:05 Falmouth Coastguard requested that both Falmouth Inshore and All Weather Lifeboat’s be launched following a call reporting a kayaker to overdue while on passage between Coverack and Maenporth. A Rescue Helicopter from RNAS Culdrose and the Falmouth Coastguard Mobile were also tasked to assist.

The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 12:12 and was tasked to search from Maenporth to the Helford. As the Inshore Lifeboat was heading across Falmouth Bay the Helicopter, which had commenced, its search in the Helford River reported sighting a kayak in Port Navas Creek. In view of this information the All Weather Lifeboat was requested to hold its launch while the Inshore Lifeboat continued towards Maenporth where it arrived at 12:18. Shortly afterwards at 12:20 the helicopter was able to confirm that the kayaker was the one that had been reported missing and all units were stood down to return to station.

The Inshore Lifeboat was heading back towards Pendennis Point when at 12:25 it was requested to divert to assist a Kite Surfer reported in difficulty off Swanpool.
