Inshore lifeboat (Launched 23:20 / Returned 00:35) – Elliot Holman (Helmsman), Tom Bird, Josh Williams
At 22:31 Falmouth Coastguard contacted the duty launching authority for the Falmouth Lifeboats to request assistance for the police in locating a yacht on the River Fal or Truro River. Concerns had been raised about its occupants but initially due to uncertainty on the location of the yacht the lifeboat crew remained on standby at the lifeboat station. Once at 23:15 additional information was available the decision was made to launch the Inshore Lifeboat to search the pontoons from Turnaware in the River Fal up to Malpas in the Truro River.
The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 23:20 and headed up the Carrick Roads commencing at 23:35 its search of the River Fal. The yacht was located on a pontoon in the King Harry Reach and two police officers were transferred from the King Harry Ferry pontoon to speak to the yachts occupants. One occupant was then transferred back to the shore along with the two police officers so at 00:10 the Inshore Lifeboat was released to return to its station.
The Inshore Lifeboat was recovered onto its slipway at 00:35, being refuelled and ready for service by 00:50.
