At 11:10 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat be launched to assist a 6m Ski Boat with one adult and two children on board which had engine failure and was aground at Turnaware Point.
The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 11:18 and headed up the Carrick Roads arriving on scene at Turnaware Point at 11:28. A lifeboat crewmember was put ashore to assist in holding the vessel off the shoreline while the two children were transferred to the Inshore Lifeboat while the skipper remained on the boat. Once a line had been attached at 11:32 the tow back to Falmouth commenced, the boat being taken to Grove Place Dinghy Park pontoon where it was safely moored at 12:27, the Inshore Lifeboat being released to return to station.
The Inshore Lifeboat was recovered onto its slipway at 12:30 where the lifeboat was refuelled and made ready for service by 12:45.
The skipper and two children had overnighted on Turnaware Point but had found in the morning that the engine would not restart so had requested assistance.
