Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat was attending Flushing’s annual Lifeboat Quayside Service when they received a request from the Lizard Lifeboat to assist with the tow of the 12m Charter Boat Madeline May. The boat had suffered a gear box failure off the Lizard and the Lizard Lifeboat had been tasked to tow her back to the boats base at Mylor Harbour.
The Inshore Lifeboat left Flushing Quay at 20:04 and met up with the Lizard Lifeboat in the Carrick Roads at 20:20 where they took over the tow. The boat was taken to Mylor Harbour where it was safely secured alongside the harbour pontoon at 20:48, the Inshore Lifeboat being released to return to its station.
The Inshore Lifeboat was recovered onto its slipway at 20:55 where the lifeboat was refuelled and made ready for service by 21:05.
