Inshore lifeboat (Launched 00:38 / Returned 01:15) – Elliot Holman (Helmsman), Nick Head, Jamie Connoly
At 00:30 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat be launched to assist three people adrift in a 3m dinghy in the Penryn River.
The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 00:38 and having headed up the harbour into the Penryn River locating the casualties off Flushing at 00:50. The boat and its occupants were towed to Flushing Quay where the boat was tied up and the three occupants went ashore, the Inshore Lifeboat being released to return to its station at 01:00.
The Inshore Lifeboat was recovered onto its slipway at 01:15 where the lifeboat was refuelled and made ready for service by 01:30.
The three occupants of the dinghy had been heading home after a night out when their outboard engine had failed. They had attempted to row the dinghy but had been struggling so the vessel Constantine had advised the Coastguard of their predicament.
