Inshore lifeboat (Launched 16:39 / Returned 16:55) – Claire Angove (Helmsman), Jake Ingleby, Jamie Connoly
At 16:31 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat be launched to assist two people reported as being cut off by the tide on the west side of Castle Beach. Falmouth Coastguard Cliff Rescue Team was also tasked to assist.
The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 16:39 and having rounded Pendennis Point arrived on scene off Castle Beach at 16:45. It was soon established that the two casualties had managed to swim back to the main part of beach so at 16:46 the Inshore Lifeboat was released to return to its station.
The Inshore Lifeboat was recovered onto its slipway at 16:55 where the lifeboat was refuelled and made ready for service by 17:05.
Although the two people had managed to make their own way back to the beach the first informant was right to raise the alarm as the situation could have been totally different.
