At 08:05 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth All Weather and Inshore Lifeboats be launched to assist the police in the search for a missing person in the Helford River area. The Falmouth and Portscatho Coastguard Rescue Teams were also tasked to assist the Police Units in the search.
The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 08:12 and having crossed the bay headed up the Helford River commencing a search of Porthnavas Creek at 08:31. The All Weather Lifeboat left its pontoon berth at 08:15, arriving off the entrance to the Helford River at 08:36 and was tasked to commence a search of the coastline around Durgan Village.
At 08:45 the coastguard confirmed that the missing person had been located safe and well ashore in the Durgan area and therefore both lifeboats were released to return to their station.
The Inshore Lifeboat was recovered onto its slipway at 09:05 while the All Weather Lifeboat arrived back alongside its pontoon berth at 09:10, both lifeboats being refuelled and ready for service by 09:30.
