At 17:25 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth All Weather Lifeboat be launched to assist the French Yacht Belle Aventure, which had reported rigging and engine failure in a position South of Dodman Point.

The All Weather Lifeboat left her berth at 17:39 and arrived on scene at 18:15. Two lifeboat crew were put onboard the yacht and a towline was transferred. The yacht was towed back to Falmouth where it was safely moored alongside at Port Pendennis Marina at 20:00.

The All Weather Lifeboat was back alongside its pontoon berth by 20:15, where it was ready for service by 20:45.
