Boat: All Weather Lifeboat Crew: Mark Pollard (Coxswain), David Proud, Alan Rwoe, Phil Rogers, John Lower, Dave Nicoll, Tom Bird, Diane Bush Location: 2= miles East of Greeb Point Shout Date: 31/05/2006 (All day) Weather:N 4, Slight Sea, Good Visibility, Sunny Periods At 15:12 Falmouth Coastguard that Falmouths All Weather Lifeboat be launched to assist a 40ft Fishing Vessel which had suffered a mechanical breakdown 2= miles South East of Greeb Point while on passage from Falmouth to Fowey with two persons onboard. The All Weather Lifeboat left its pontoon berth at 15:22, and arrived on scene alongside the vessel South of Gull Rock at 15:48. Two of the lifeboats mechanics were transferred to the fishing vessel, and after three quarters of an hour they managed to rectify the problem, allowing the Fishing Vessel to continue on passage, and preventing a long and slow tow back to Falmouth. After escorting the vessel for a short period the skipper confirmed he was happy to continue on his passage alone and at 16:42 the lifeboat was released to return to station. The All Weather Lifeboat was back alongside its pontoon berth by 17:20 and was then refuelled, and ready for service by 17:45.
