Boat: All Weather Lifeboat Crew: Mark Pollard (Coxswain), David Proud, Snowy Angove, John Blakeston, Phil Rogers, Dave Nicoll, Tom Bird Location: 2 miles South of Pendennis Point Shout Date: 18/06/2006 (All day) Weather:SW 5, Moderate Sea, Good Visibility, Sunny Periods At 15:09 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth All Weather Lifeboat be launched to assist the 35 ft Fishing Vessel Celtic Lass which broken down 2 miles South of Pendennis Point. The All Weather Lifeboat left its pontoon berth at 15:19, and arrived on scene at 15:38. Another small vessel had taken the Celtic Lass in tow, but in view of the size and weight of the fishing vessel it was decided that the tow should be transferred to the lifeboat. The towline was made secure at 15:45 and the tow back to Falmouth commenced. The casualty was taken to the Fal Fish berth in the docks where she was safely moored alongside at 16:20, the lifeboat being then released to return to station. The All Weather Lifeboat was back alongside its pontoon berth by 16:28. The lifeboat was then refuelled, and was ready for service by 16:45.
