At 23:00 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth All Weather Lifeboat be launched to assist the single handed 21ft Fishing Vessel Solitaire which had reported suffering mechanical failure off Rosemullion Head in Falmouth Bay.

Falmouth All Weather Lifeboat left its pontoon berth at 23:10 arriving alongside the casualty at 23:30. Once on scene a tow line was passed to the vessel and it was towed back to Falmouth where it was safely berthed alongside Port Pendennis Marina at 00:04.

The All Weather Lifeboat was back alongside its pontoon berth by 00:11. The lifeboat was then refuelled, and was ready for service by 00:25.

The fishing boats coolant pipe had split causing the engine to overheat leaving the skipper no option other than to call for assistance.
