Boat: All Weather Lifeboat Crew: Alan Barnes (Coxswain), David Proud, Alan Rowe, Mark Pollard, Alistair Heane, Phil Rogers, Andy Jenkins, Luke Wills Location: Off Black Rock at entrance to Falmouth Harbour Shout Date: 13/05/2005 (All day) Weather:E 7, Rough Sea, Good Visibility, Overcast At 17:07 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth All Weather Lifeboat be launched to assist the single handed Dutch Yacht Ishtar, which had become disabled after its foresail sheets had become fouled around its propeller as it was entering Falmouth Harbour. The yacht had called Falmouth Coastguard as it was in danger of being driven ashore on Black Rock in the rough easterly seas. The All Weather Lifeboat left her berth at 17:17 and arrived on scene at 17:25. The harbour launch Carrick 3 was standing by the vessel, which had drifted clear of Black Rock. The lifeboat passed a tow to the yacht and it was safely berthed at Port Pendennis Marina at 17:42. The All Weather Lifeboat was back alongside its pontoon berth by 17:50, where it was ready for service by 18:05.
