At 10:08 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth All Weather Lifeboat be launched to assist the an 18ft day angling boat with two persons onboard which had suffered engine failure 5 milers southeast of Zone Point.

The All Weather Lifeboat left her berth at 10:20 arriving on scene at 10:40. The two crew onboard the angling boat were transferred to the all weather lifeboat and a lifeboat crewman was placed onboard the casualty to secure the tow. At 10:50 the casualty was under tow back to Falmouth and the boat and its occupants were safely moored alongside at Falmouth marina at 12:05.

The All Weather Lifeboat was back alongside its pontoon berth by 12:15, where it was ready for service by 12:30.
