At 10:54 Falmouth Offshore Lifeboat was on exercise in Falmouth Harbour, when the Coastguard requested the Lifeboat assist in the search for the Dive Boat ""Paradox"". Another Dive Boat had reported that they were concerned for the safety of the 22ft Rigid Inflatable, when the weather had started to deteriorate, and they had failed to return from a dive in Falmouth Bay.

The Offshore Lifeboat headed out into Falmouth Bay to commence a search. At 11:01 as the Lifeboat was rounding Pendennis Point they sighted a Rigid Inflatable heading back towards Pendennis Point from Falmouth Bay. By 11:03, the Lifeboat had confirmed that this was the missing Dive Boat, and that all was well onboard.

By 11:06 the Dive Boat had cleared Pendennis Point and was heading safely back into Harbour, so the Lifeboat was released to continue with its exercise.
