Boat: Inshore Lifeboat Crew: Oliver Lewis (Helmsman), Diane Bush, Claire Angove Location: Off St Anthony Lighthouse Shout Date: 30/03/2008 (All day) Weather:S 6, Moderate Sea & Swell, Good Visibility, Sunny Periods At 15:13 Falmouth Coastguard requested that the Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat be launched following a call from the single handed skipper of the 23m Classic Yawl Clio Marie. The vessel was off St Anthony Lighthouse and had suffered a rigging failure and was on a lee shore. The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 15:19. By the time the inshore lifeboat arrived on scene at 15:27 the skipper had managed to get the situation under control, had started his engine and was heading out to sea. The inshore lifeboat then escorted the vessel back into Falmouth where she returned to her berth at Port Pendennis Marina at 16:30. The Inshore Lifeboat was back on its slipway by 16:35 where it was refuelled, rehoused and was ready for service by 16:50. The skipper had wisely called for assistance as he had initially not known the extent of the rigging failure and with the prevailing weather conditions could have quickly been driven ashore.
