Boat: All Weather Lifeboat Crew: Alan Barnes (Coxswain), Peter Wood, Snowy Angove, David Proud, Alan Rowe, Carl Beardmore Location: 10 miles South East of Falmouth Shout Date: 16/08/2003 (All day) Weather:E 5, Moderate Sea, Good Visibility, Sunny Periods At 17:15 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Offshore Lifeboat be launched to assist the 15m Catamaran Oisin, which had been Dismasted 10 miles South East of Falmouth. The Offshore Lifeboat left her berth at 17:25 and headed for the casualties position. The lifeboat arrived on scene at 17:58 and placed two crewmembers and cutting equipment onboard the catamaran to assist in clearing the rigging. Once this had been completed, the catamaran made her own way under engine back towards Falmouth escorted by the lifeboat. The Oisin was safely berthed alongside at Port Pendennis Marina at 20:16 and the lifeboat was released to return to station. The Offshore Lifeboat was back alongside its pontoon berth by 20:25, where it was ready for service by 20:55.
