Boat: Inshore Lifeboat Crew: Dave Nicoll (Helmsman), Oliver Lewis, Andy Jenkin, Jonathon Hackwell Location: North Quay, Falmouth Inner Harbour Shout Date: 11/08/2007 (All day) Weather:S 4, Moderate Sea and Slight Swell, Good Visibility, Sunny At 19:25 the Inshore Lifeboat was just passing Pendennis Point returning from a previous service when Falmouth Coastguard requested that the lifeboat proceed to North Quay in the Falmouth Inner Harbour where the Police had reported a car over the quay. The inshore lifeboat arrived on scene at 19:28 to be told by the Police that the car was unoccupied but was still hanging precariously over the edge of the quay, but additional reports had indicated a possible second car in the water off the Church Street car park. They requested that the inshore lifeboat, along with the harbour launch should carry out a search of the area to ensure that no other vehicle was involved. At 19:36 the Inshore Lifeboat was able to confirm that there were no visible signs of a second car being involved, and the inshore lifeboat returned to North Quay to standby while the Fire Brigade winched the car back onto the quay. Once the vehicle was recovered and there was no further risk the inshore lifeboat was released to return to station. The Inshore Lifeboat was back on its slipway by 19:45 where it was refuelled, and was ready for service by 20:00.
