Boat: All Weather Lifeboat Crew: Alan Barnes (Coxswain), Peter Wood, David Proud, Alan Rowe, John Lower, Neil McClarity, Carl Beardmore, Tom Bird, Michael Lowres Location: Off Loe Beach, Carrick Roads Shout Date: 13/10/2002 (All day) Weather:NW 8-10, Rough Sea, Fair Visibility, Overcast with Squally Showers At 15:36 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Offshore Lifeboat be launched to provide backup for the Inshore Lifeboat, which had been launched to go to the assistance of a Capsized Enterprise Sailing Dinghy off Loe Beach. The dinghy was reported to be 200 yards off Loe Beach with three persons clinging to it, in detereating weather conditions. The Offshore Lifeboat left her berth at 15:49 and made best possible speed towards Loe Beach. At 15:51 the Inshore Lifeboat arrived on scene, and at 15:53 reported that it had recovered the three casualties from the water, but requested that they be transferred to the Offshore Lifeboat as soon as they arrived on scene as they were suffering from varying stages of Hypothermia. The Offshore Lifeboat arrived on scene at 15:59 and the three casualties were immediately transferred to the Offshore Lifeboat, for the journey back to the lifeboat station, where an Ambulance was waiting. The Offshore Lifeboat arrived back at its pontoon berth at 16:16 and the casualties were taken ashore, to be treated by the Paramedics, one casualty being later transferred to Treliske Hospital for further treatment. The Offshore Lifeboat was refuelled and ready for service by 16:31.
