Boat: All Weather Lifeboat Crew: Alan Barnes (Coxswain), Roger McClarity, Tim Julian, Peter Wood, Snowy Angove, Alan Rowe, Mark Pollard Location: Two miles East of Zone Point Shout Date: 27/08/2001 (All day) Weather:E 2, Slight Sea, Good Visibility, Clear Sky At 21:56 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Offshore be launched after the 38ft Ketch ""Sundance"" requested assistance having suffered rudder failure, run out of fuel and having being becalmed. The Falmouth Water Taxi had also proceeded to assist the Ketch. The Offshore Lifeboat left her pontoon berth at 22:10. The Water Taxi had taken the Ketch in tow, and when the Lifeboat arrived on scene at 22:18 the tow was transferred to the Lifeboat. The Ketch was towed back to Falmouth Inner Harbour where she was safely berthed on a mooring at 23:10, the Lifeboat then being released to return to station. The Offshore Lifeboat was back alongside its pontoon berth by 23:20, where it was refuelled and ready for service by 23:40.
