At 10:31 Falmouth Lifeboat was on exercise off Dodman Point, when Falmouth Coastguard requested that the lifeboat proceed to assist the 28ft Yacht ""Lady of Cleeve"", which was requiring assistance 7 miles Southeast of the Manacle Buoy.

The yacht had been returning from the Bay of Biscay where it had spent four days hove too in Storm Force winds. The two crew on board the yacht were exhausted, the yacht had run out of fuel and was drifting in the light airs.

The Lifeboat arrived on scene at 11:09 and passed a towline to the yacht. The yacht was then towed back to Falmouth where she was safely berthed in Falmouth Harbour at 13:45.

The Offshore Lifeboat was back alongside its pontoon berth by 13:55, where it was refuelled and ready for service by 14:15.
