Inshore Lifeboat Call

Date : Tuesday 27th July 1999 
Service : Capsized Sailing Dinghy 
Location : ½ Mile South East of Pendennis 

Point Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat was launched at 14:10 to go to the assistance of a capsized Sailing Dinghy ½ mile South East of Pendennis Point. A Rescue helicopter from Culdrose was also tasked. The Inshore Lifeboat arrived on scene at 14:16 shortly after the Helicopter. 
The dinghy had already been righted by its two man crew and the Inshore Lifeboat, then escorted the dinghy back up into the Carrick Roads, the Helicopter being released to return to station. Once the Laser 5000 Dinghy was safely in the shelter of the Carrick Roads the Inshore Lifeboat was also released to return to station at 14:25. 

The Inshore Lifeboat was back at station by 14:40, where it was refueled and ready for service by 15:00.
