Boat: All Weather Lifeboat Crew: Coxswain : Alan Barnes. Crew :Roger McClarity, John Murray, Chris Price, Peter Wood,Snowy Angove, John Palmer, David Proud, Alan Rowe,Carl Beardmore, Marc Thomas. Location: On mooring between Falmouth Marina and Trevissome, Shout Date: 25/03/2000 (All day) Weather:SW 4-5, Slight Sea, Good Visibility, Clear Periods Falmouth Offshore Lifeboat was launched at 19:44 following a report that a yacht was on fire on a mooring between Falmouth Marina and Trevissome House. The Inshore Lifeboat was also launched to assist. The owner of the yacht had managed to get off the 25ft yacht into his dinghy and had rowed ashore to get assistance. The Offshore Lifeboat arrived on scene at 19:50 and extinguished the fire using the lifeboats fire hoses. The Fire Brigade used the Marina launch to carry various fire fighting equipment out to the yacht, and the yacht was then towed back to the Marina. The Inshore Lifeboat assisted in the transfer of the owner and various members of the Emergency Services. The Offshore Lifeboat then stood by until the Fire Brigade were happy that no further assistance was required. The yacht suffered extensive fire damage. The Offshore Lifeboat returned to station, where it was refuelled and ready for service by 20:30.
