While Falmouth Offshore Lifeboat was exercising off Pendennis Point at 11:49 when Falmouth Coastguard requested that the Lifeboat proceed to assist the 23m long Trawler ""Seefalke"" which had suffered mechanical failure 23 miles to the South East of Falmouth. The ""Seafalke"" five man crew had tried to effect a repair but this had proved impossible.

The Offshore Lifeboat set course for the ""Seefalke"" position at 11:51, and arrived on scene at 12:56. A towline was passed to the Trawler and by 13:15 the tow back to Falmouth had commenced. The tow to Falmouth took 5= hours and at 18:45 once the boats were off Pendennis Point, the lifeboat was manoeuvred alongside the ""Seefalke"" so the Trawler could be placed alongside a wharf in Falmouth Docks. The ""Seefalke"" was safely tied up in the docks by 19:15.

The Offshore Lifeboat was back alongside its pontoon berth by 19:35, where it was refuelled and ready for service by 20:32.
