At 16:29 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Offshore Lifeboat be launched following a report from the Catamaran ""Adonnante"" that they were alongside the 23ft yacht ""Sweet Thursday and required assistance into Falmouth Harbour. They reported that yacht had been at sea for 117 days and its single occupant was in a state of exhaustion.

The Offshore Lifeboat left her pontoon berth at 16:44 and arrived on scene at 17:13. Two of the Lifeboat crew were transferred onto the yacht to check over the casualty and to prepare for the tow into Falmouth Harbour. At 18:50 the yacht was safely berthed at Port Pendennis Marina, and its occupant was taken to the lifeboat station to be checked over by Ambulance Paramedics.

The yacht was returning to Falmouth from Prickly Bay in Grenada, a passage that had taken 117 days, having left Falmouth four years earlier to explore the oceans.

The Offshore Lifeboat was back alongside its pontoon berth by 19:02, where it was refuelled and ready for service by 19:20.
