The Inshore Lifeboat was joined by the Pilot Boat "Trelawney", Harbour Launch "Killigrew", Lifeboat Boarding Boat, and two other Pleasure Boats. The two pleasure boats went over to St Mawes to check that area while the other vessels concentrated their search in Inner harbour and Penryn River area. The Inshore Lifeboat used both its Night Sight, Search Light and a number of Parachute Flares to carry out an extensive search accompanied by the Pilot Boat.

>punt was located rowing back towards the Princess of Wales Pier.

The lad was met by the Coastguard Mobile. Once it was confirmed no one else was involved all units were released to return to their bases. The Inshore Lifeboat then returned to station, where it was refueled and ready for service by 01:45.
