| Date : Sunday 20th June 1999 Service : Yacht "Finn McCouls" dismasted Location : Carrick Roads Falmouth
Inshore Lifeboat while on exercise in the Carrick Roads observed the 25ft Open 1720 Yacht
"Finn McCouls" being dismasted during a heavy squall at 10:43. The Inshore
Lifeboat stood by the yacht while the broken mast and sails were recovered, and then
assisted the yacht back to its berth at Port Pendennis Marina. The Inshore Lifeboat was
able to return to its exercise at 11:10, only to be called out again at 11:25 to search
for two divers overdue in the Manacle Rocks. (See separate Press Release) |
