1999 Service : Transfer of Paramedic and additional medical equipment Location : Entrance to Falmouth Harbour Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat was launched at 03:15 to take an Ambulance Paramedic and additional medical equipment out to the Offshore Lifeboat, which was evacuating a seaman with serious burns from the Dutch Coaster "Scorpio" which was anchored off Rosemullion Point, in Falmouth Bay. The seaman had been injured during a fire on the ships lifeboat, which had been observed from the shore and had been the initial reason for the Offshore Lifeboat to be launched. The Inshore Lifeboat transferred the Paramedic and the additional medical equipment to the Offshore Lifeboat as it approached the Eastern Arm of the Docks. This enabled the Paramedic to assist the crew on the Offshore Lifeboat who were already trying to stabilize the casualty. The seaman had suffered 30% burns and at one stage had required resuscitation. The Inshore Lifeboat then returned to station, where it
