| Date : Wednesday 11th August 1999 Service : Swimmer Reported Missing Location : St Mawes Harbour Falmouth Offshore Lifeboat was launched at 00:45 to assist in the search for a late night swimmer who had been reported missing. The initial report had come from a yacht anchored off the beach at St Mawes. Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat and the Portscatho Coastguard Mobile had also been tasked to assist in the search. The Inshore Lifeboat arrived on scene at 00:46 and commenced a search of the area using its night sight, search light and parachute flares. The Offshore Lifeboat was just approaching St Mawes Harbour to commence its search when the missing person was located safe and well ashore at St Mawes Harbour by the Coastguard Mobile at 00:57. All units were then released to return to station. The Offshore Lifeboat returned to station, where it was refueled and ready for service by 01:17. Coxswain : Alan Barnes.
