Inshore Lifeboat Call

Date : Tuesday 1st June 1999
Service : Dinghy broken down and trapped in Cove by Tide
Location : Between Portloe and West Portholland

Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat was launched at 17:45 to go to the assistance of an Inflatable Dinghy which had broken down and drifted ashore in a cove between Portloe and West Portholland. The two people were unable to get out of the cove due to the incoming tide. The Inshore Lifeboat was guided to the location by members of the Portscatho Coastguard Cliff Team who were positioned on the cliff above. The Inshore Lifeboat arrived on scene at 18:05 and recovered the two teenagers before towing their dinghy back to West Portholland. Once they had been safely landed ashore the Inshore Lifeboat returned to station.

The Inshore Lifeboat was rehoused, refuelled and ready for service by 18:40
