| Date : Tuesday 1st June 1999 Service : Dinghy broken down and trapped in Cove by Tide Location : Between Portloe and West Portholland Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat was launched at 17:45 to go to the
assistance of an Inflatable Dinghy which had broken down and drifted ashore in a cove
between Portloe and West Portholland. The two people were unable to get out of the cove
due to the incoming tide. The Inshore Lifeboat was guided to the location by members of
the Portscatho Coastguard Cliff Team who were positioned on the cliff above. The Inshore
Lifeboat arrived on scene at 18:05 and recovered the two teenagers before towing their
dinghy back to West Portholland. Once they had been safely landed ashore the Inshore
Lifeboat returned to station. Helmsman : Dave Nicoll |
