![]() A group of thirty motorcyclists, of the Somerset Section of the Vintage Motorcycle Club of Great Britain, stopped off at Falmouth Lifeboat Station for a tour of the lifeboats on Saturday morning. The visit had been planned some while ago by Robert Thomson, the lifeboat station Visits Officer, and Trevor Wells of the Vintage Motor Cycle Club (VMCC) and their club secretary Philip Ham. During their visit Madam Chairman of the Somerset section of the VMCC presented a £100 cheque to Dennis West, representing Falmouth Lifeboat Station. In addition to their generous donation the members spent over £80 in the gift shop. The mature and knowledgeable group of motorcycle enthusiasts thoroughly enjoyed their tour of the All Weather and the Inshore Lifeboats, asking some very searching questions. They later listened to a talk on the RNLI, given by Dennis West, and also watched a video entitled “Mayday – Mayday” in the crew room. The whole visit was blessed with wonderful sunshine and lots of photographs were taken to commemorate the occasion. RNLI media contacts RNLI online Key facts about the RNLI |
