Press Releases

On Friday 28 January 2011, between 10:00am and 4:00pm, Mr Michael French of Carharrack, will be displaying his model lifeboats outside the old Woolworths store in Market Street, Falmouth.

Mick French has been building one twelfth scale model lifeboats for many years, and this year he has decided to exhibit them in public to help raise money for the RNLI SOS day appeal. This is a countrywide scheme that encourages all Lifeboat Stations to put on some fundraising event to show the local people what the RNLI is all about and raise money to support the charity.

Mick French’s display of his models of “Lifeboats Through the Ages” has been given the slogan “Support Our Shop”, that is the RNLI shop at the lifeboat station in Tinners Walk.

It is hoped that as many people as possible will visit the display on Friday and marvel at the painstaking detail and effort that goes into the manufacture of these fantastic scale models.
