Helen Kurdyla has raised over £5000 for the Falmouth Lifeboat Station by running two sponsored marathons. Originally from Yorkshire, Helen and her family, husband Dominic and two teenage daughters, have owned and run the Gem Fish and Chip Shop on Quarry Hill, Falmouth, for the past eight years.

Recently, members of the Falmouth Lifeboat Guild presented Helen with a picture of the Falmouth All Weather Lifeboat, signed by members of the crew, as a way of saying thank you for all her good work and effort in raising such a large sum. The Treasurer of the Guild, Ann Hunt, said “This money will go to ensure that the Falmouth volunteer lifeboat crews can continue to go to the aid of those in need of help at sea around the Falmouth area.”

The signed photograph was presented to Helen on the all weather lifeboat by Falmouth Lifeboat Guild members Ann Hunt, Treasurer, Josie Bee, Chairman, Liz Harris, Secretary, and Brenda Grieve, Committee Member. The picture shows them together with Helen and her husband.
