Severn class lifeboats are capable of carrying out pumping and fire fighting tasks using the engine driven general service pump. They also carry a portable salvage pump.

Comprehensive first aid equipment is carried including stretchers, oxygen and entonox. Richard Cox Scott also carries a thermal imaging camera.
