The Falmouth Lifeboat station was established by the Institution in 1867 as the result of several wrecks occurring in the vicinity.

1829 RNLIs Gold medal awarded to William Brook for the rescue by means of an open boat of eleven persons from the Brig Larch on 7th. January 1828.

1831 Voted Gold medal to Lt.W.Jones RN for the rescue of the crew of ten of the French Brig Le Bon Pere. Lt.Jones swam to the vessel for a rope.
