| Date : Monday 22nd February 1999 Service : Search for Man Overboard from French Fishing Vessel "Digny" Location : 16 Miles South East of Lizard Point Falmouth Offshore Lifeboat was launched at 10:00 to carry out a search for a French Fisherman lost overboard from the French Fishing Vessel "Digny", 16 miles South East of Lizard Point. Falmouth Lifeboat, Lizard Lifeboat, and a Helicopter from RNAS Culdrose carried out an extensive search of the area with Negative Results. As the area had been thoroughly covered the search was eventually called off. The Offshore Lifeboat returned to its berth, was refueled and ready for service by 16:00 (The Relief Arun Class Lifeboat "Duke of Athol" 52-46 is currently on station at Falmouth while "The Will", Falmouth's Severn Class Lifeboat is away at Refit) Coxswain : Roger McClarity. |
