September 1998 Service : Two Persons being Blown out to Sea on Rubber Inner Tube Location : Portholland, Gerrans Bay Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat was launched at 13:15 to assist of two people being blown out to sea on a large lorry inner tube off Portholland. A Helicopter from Culdrose and the Local Coastguard Cliff Rescue teams were also alerted. The Inshore Lifeboat and other units were released when it was confirmed that the two persons had made it back to the safety of the beach. The Inshore Lifeboat was rehoused and ready for service by 13:40 Helmsman : Snowy Angove Crew : David Proud & Mark Pollard Weather : N 4, Slight Sea, Good Visibility, Sunny Periods
