Date : Monday 3rd May 1999 Service : Two Divers overdue Location : In the area of the Manacle Rocks Falmouth Offshore and Inshore Lifeboats were launched at 13:15 to assist in the search for two divers who had been reported overdue from a drift dive in the Manacle Rocks area. A Rescue Helicopter from Culdrose had also been scrambled to assist. The Helicopter was first on scene, followed shortly after by the Inshore Lifeboat which then relayed all details of the dive profile and position that the divers had been expected to surface at. The Inshore Lifeboat commenced a search of the area using a number of other dive boats to assist. Shortly after as the Offshore Lifeboat got on scene a yacht reported sighting two divers holding onto a fishing marker about 2 miles to the South of the Manacles. The Helicopter and Offshore Lifeboat proceeded to investigate and the Helicopter recovered the two divers from the water. Once it was confirmed that they did not need any medical attention the two divers were returned to Porthkerris Beach. The Offshore and Inshore Lifeboats therefore returned to station, where they were refueled and ready for service by 14:30 Helmsman: Dave Nicoll,
Crew: Glen Reed and Alister Heane
